How can one attempt reading this book for the second time? This play is extremely emotional. Not in terms of grappling with the meaning but safah the emotions involved.
No trivia or quizzes yet. It has a very unique artistic style that either you love or hate. My only issue with Kane is ever, with such a blatant emphasis on safah A couple years back, I saw an experimental version of this play which was atrocious.
Paperbackpages. I identify with a lot of what she’s saying and at the same time I understand that I won’t ever be able to understand her.
She has, had, a beautiful way with words, an amazing sense of humour even in her darkest moments, she writes with such clarity, even when nothing is clear to her, she writes in rhythms and images and it’s like poetry, or music, and every single word is important, means something, symbolically or directly, it’s what’s left of her heart and soul, poured out and smeared across a page and it’s ruthless and mean and vengeful and, maybe, forgiving at the same time.
This is a very difficult book to read. No characters are named, and even their number is unspecified.

As far as length and writing style, it is an easy read, but the content is not. Anoton rated it it was ok Jun 30, This was one of the more interesting plays we had as a primary text in our Drama Theatre Performance module but the entire play is just pure depressing. Published August 14th by Losada first published July 13th Though it’s potentially revealing in regards to the mindset of someone with suicidal thoughts and the play cleverly twists conventions by making it unclear whether she’s talking with a doctor or to herself, the way in which the play was structured made it a slight challenge to fully engage with it.

At least, in a play form. Kane’s life was brought to a premature kand when she committed suicide at Lon Sarah Kane was an English playwright. And I cannot believe that I can feel this for you and you feel nothing.
It certainly hits hard, though. As a survivor of suicidal depression, I thought that the words were far too familiar, making this one of the most difficult pieces that I have read in a while. It could be a journey through one person’s mind, or an interview between a doctor and his patient. Do you feel nothing?

I’ve never read anything like this before. I don’t think it’s one of Kane’s best, but she is always provocative and even though I’m usually in pain by the end of her work, I still appreciate sarha. However, through the poignancy of her free prose, Psychosis instead becomes a selfless disclosure of sentiment and struggle.
